Have you ever visited the rivers of South Serbia?
You should have … You would have been be amazed.
In the autumn of 2018 our team led the tour between the Vlaške and Greben mountains and around the town of Pirot. This was intended as a photo safari and an educational field visit to one of the most beautiful rivers of South Serbia: river Jerma.
We visited the famous “Venerina padina”, stopped by at the Monastery of Poganovo and Between over 200 m high cliffs, we visited one of the narrowest canyons in the Balkans: the canyon of river Blatašnica (Zvonačka river), with its narrowest part- “Cedilka”, only 1,5 meters wide! We were accompanied by Msc Ivan Medenica, experienced ornithologist, who explained us the importance of birds and their connection to the water ecosystems. Branislav Dimitrov was there to tell us more about the protected species that inhabit the freshwaters of the region. We had a little lecture about documenting nature landscapes and species and we obtained a lot of photo and video material.
